(Kuala Lumpur, 18 April) “Police will no longer organize special recruitment drive to attract Chinese joining the force. This is wasting time and money for the police due to the lukewarm response!”

Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar said the police would no longer organize such special recruitment drive after receiving lukewarm response from the Chinese community.

He said this after launching the senior officers’ rank-pinning and 2016 Police Excellence Service at Bukit Aman today. In a press conference, he said additional time and money are spent on each special recruitment drive.

He stressed that since police receive lukewarm response from the Chinese community, the police would no longer spend time and money on such drive. However, he said police welcome non-governmental organisations from Chinese community which are keen to assist in organizing such drives.
